As home to one of the most litigious environments in which to collect, NECA has retained the services of a Massachusetts-based lobbyist for over a decade, to represent our interests in the Commonwealth, as well as to monitor the legislative climate in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  Our relationship with the Massachusetts Banking Commissioner (the regulatory body that oversees MA collection agencies) has never been stronger or more constructive.  This is the result of regular communication between our lobbyist and the Commissioner; frequent attendance at Statehouse hearings by the New England unit's Legislative committee, as well as attendance by the Commissioner and his staff each year at our annual Fall meeting.
